Yosemite Valley Reopens To Visitors After Closures During Peak Tourist Season
For the last three weeks, tourists who planned to visit Yosemite Valley have been blocked. The area and the roads that lead there have been closed because of an enormous wildfire raging nearby.
But, starting Tuesday, they’ll be welcomed back in. Yosemite Valley is only a small part of Yosemite National Park, but it’s where many of the park’s most iconic sites sit — from the falls to Half Dome and El Capitan. These closures came at the peak of tourist season and have had quite an impact on the area.
Lisa Mayo is the executive director of the Tuolumne County Visitor’s Bureau. She joined The Show to talk about how they’re faring after three weeks of closures.
