The Hualapai Tribe is receiving nearly $2 million in federal grants to fix up its airport at Grand Canyon West.

The money, announced by the U.S. Department of Transportation, is part of more than $3 billion in airport improvement funding from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Grand Canyon West, north of Kingman, features a horseshoe-shaped glass bridge known as the Grand Canyon Skywalk, as well zip lines, rafting trips and aerial tours. The tribe received five separate grants.

It will use the funding to rehabilitate the heliport, install perimeter fencing, and to do various other repairs.
