Willie Bloomquist Field was dedicated in Tempe Saturday morning, as part of the “Diamonds Back” Youth Field Building Program. Bloomquist played for the Diamondbacks starting in 2011 and later played for the Seattle Mariners before announcing his retirement in 2016. Bloomquist attended the dedication at the Tempe Sports Complex.

"I’m honored," Bloomquist said. "I’m proud of it and I hope the kids for many generations to come enjoy paying on this field. I’m looking forward to hopefully seeing the next big leaguer come off this field. So I’m very honored for it.”

Since 2000, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation has built or refurbished 41 baseball and softball fields for youth sports programs.
