Republican Rep. Kelly Townsend Threatens Class Action Lawsuit Over Arizona Teacher Walkout
Some Arizona lawmakers are speaking out against the coming walkout all together.
Rep. Kelly Townsend has taken that one step further. She made a call to teachers and school staff who do not want to walk out, tweeting Tuesday, “If you do not support a walkout and are afraid for your job, send me an email and I will document it for the Department of Education.”
Townsend also tweeted that she is in touch with a local law firm about the possibility of filing a class action lawsuit for those who are negatively affected by the walkout.
The Show got a hold of Townsend to ask her more about this and if she’s been hearing from teachers who are in this position.
If you do not support the #walkout and are afraid for your job, send me an email and I will document it for the Dept. of Ed. See the attached photo for instructions. #RedForEd #redforedaz #azleg pic.twitter.com/L3rB4XAIRZ— Rep. Kelly Townsend (@KellyTownsend11) April 24, 2018
