Local aviation expert Jim Tilmon said it’s hard to give any good analysis of what might have happened in a helicopter crash that killed three people at the Grand Canyon Saturday.

Tilmon is a former airline pilot who also flew helicopters.

"Flying anywhere around mountains in our state, just about everything you do other than flying right over the flat desert that is gonna be involving terrain," he said. "That could certainly contribute to some unusual conditions."

The helicopter that crashed was taking tourist on a flight through the canyon.

Four people were being treated at a Nevada hospital on Sunday, while crews were recovering the bodies of three others.
