A false alarm on a missile attack went out in Hawaii Saturday. As a result, Arizona officials are preparing to double check the alert system here.

Wendy Smith-Reeve is deputy director of the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs. She said the entire country uses the same alert system.

"We have at least two people that are working the message to reconfirm that the information is accurate and that we want to send the message to a specific area or if we want to blanket the message across the state," Smith-Reeve said.

She said in light of the Hawaii incident, there will be meetings among emergency officials this week to go over message protocols.
