Arizona Business Leaders Look Forward To Another Pro-Business Legislature
Arizona business leaders are planning on more good news ahead in the 2018 legislature.
Looking back at last year, business leaders said they're pretty happy with what state lawmakers accomplished on their behalf.
In fact, Todd Sanders with the Phoenix Chamber told PBS' Arizona Horizon the business climate in Arizona is so good that business leaders outside Arizona are envious.
"They're either facing states and cities that are downright in opposition to business or basically don't care," said Sanders.
Looking ahead at the Arizona pro-business culture in 2018 he said, "We're in a really good spot here in AZ to continue that trend."
Ducey could sweeten the pot, Sanders said, if he and state lawmakers invested more in higher education and K-12 classrooms, beyond what's already been promised.
Sanders and other local chamber leaders said most small businesses are pleased with the federal tax overhaul and look forward to seeing whether state lawmakers use it to their advantage this year.
