The Prescott Valley police chief who lost his handgun last month has been suspended for two days.

According to the Prescott Daily Courier, Prescott Valley’s town manager issued the punishment, which also requires Chief Bryan Jarrell to complete a certified firearm safety course and pay the cost to replace the handgun.

The chief didn’t realize his gun went missing until four days later. The police department then offered a $500 reward for its return.
