ADOT To Hold Public Meeting On Location Of I-10 Alternative
On Thursday, residents of the West Valley can weigh in on proposals for State Route 30. The route would connect the forthcoming South Mountain Freeway in west Phoenix with Goodyear.
Doug Nintzel, spokesman for the Arizona Department of Transportation, said this new road will give West Valley residents an east-west alternative to Interstate 10.
ADOT will answer questions about the proposed route at the meeting. Public comments on the plan are due by Dec. 5.
Construction on SR 30 is expected to start in 2022 if it gets all of the needed environmental reviews.
“Those are the types of things that still need to be, say, finalized as we move forward,” Nintzel said.
SR 30 is part of the Maricopa Association of Government's Regional Transportation Plan, which was approved by voters over 10 years ago.
