Gilbert Water Manager Says Water Is Safe To Drink
If you live in Gilbert, you might have gotten an unwelcome notice in the mail this week.
About 40,000 households in the town received a notice this month with their water bill that said their drinking water contained higher-than-allowed level of a contaminant, according to the Arizona Republic.
The contaminant, called Total Trihalomethanes, is linked to cancer risks and other health problems if consumed at high levels for long periods of time.
The town says that the levels might exceed EPA standards, but it’s still safe. And, joining us now to talk about this is Andrew Jackson, water manager for the town of Gilbert.
