State Parks Prepare For Influx Of Visitors

October 01, 2013

With the national parks shutting down Tuesday, Arizona’s state parks are preparing to pick up the slack. Spokeswoman Ellen Bilbrey said they are getting ready for an influx of people who have had their camping plans upset.

“Everybody understands that this could mean that a lot of people will be dropping by to see if they can find a place to camp or they’re just going on our website to try to find a place that they can make a reservation,” Bilbrey said.

She said while some campgrounds may already be full, there are still plenty with open camp sites. She advises those needing a reservation to find one online at azstateparks.com.
