The U.S. Department of Justice is weighing in on Governor Brewer’s denial of driver’s licenses for those in the Administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA program, saying it’s a violation of federal law. But gubernatorial spokesman Andrew Wilder said the Justice Department is ignoring the issue of President Obama making his own laws,

“President Obama is through executive action, policy change, has decided to not enforce existing federal law, and not enforcing law is not law itself,” Wilder said.

The three appeals court judges who ruled against Arizona’s position sought input from the Justice Department before the case goes to the full 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Wilder predicts the court will reject the arguments from the Department of Justice. The dreamer immigrants say they do have the right to drive under the DACA program.
