Cooking Through Spain: KJZZ Study Tour

Eight KJZZ Travel Club members spent 13 unforgettable days getting to know Spain the best way there is: in the kitchen.

These travelers made tuna stew under the guidance of retired Basque fishermen in a private cooking club, picked up authentic Galician recipes from professional chefs in Santiago de Compostela, and learned how to marinate meat and fish with different types of wine in a small village north of Madrid.

In between these cooking classes, these public radio listeners visited wineries in the Txakolí, Rias Baixas, Ribeira Sacra, and Ribera del Duero wine regions and also got to explore the taverns of historic downtown Madrid on food and walking tours.
