Remembering William French
Sunday’s Arizona Republic included in its collection of obituaries the name of William French. He had been a respected attorney and judge in Arizona for nearly 40 years and even played football at Notre Dame as a college kid, but in the annals of this state’s political history, French is known as the lead prosecutor in the impeachment trial of then-Gov. Evan Mecham.
