Many Fire Restrictions Lifted

August 30, 2013

The Bureau of Land Management has lifted fire restrictions on public lands in Yuma, La Paz, and Mohave Counties as of 6 this morning. Spokeswoman Lori Cook says there are a number of reasons for the decision.

“With the humidity up and the temperatures down, they feel as though that’s enough to where we could take the fire restrictions off,” Cook said.

Cook says even though the restrictions have been lifted, it is still important for campers to be careful with their fires.  And, she says so far this year in Western Arizona, they have been.
