Ozone High Pollution Advisory Issued

August 21, 2013

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality is issuing an ozone high pollution advisory today for just the third time this year. National Weather Service Meteorologist Austin Jamison says the pollution can be a problem for people with repertory problems and even healthy people who exercise outside. He recommends taking extra caution.

“Avoid outdoor activities and exercises, but also help cut down on the pollution which contributes to ozone,” Jamison said. “For instance: car pooling, telecommuting, using mass transit.”

Jamison also says to avoid using gasoline-powered equipment until later in the day.
