A local charity is hoping the recent domestic violence arrests in the NFL, including last week’s arrest of Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer, will help them raise money to get to troubled kids early, in hopes of preventing similar crimes.

Shannon Smith with "Suns Nite Hoops" said the program's goal is to teach young people, “How to stay out of trouble and basically get their lives in order through better parenting, getting a job, keeping a job, handling conflict."

The group is planning a fundraiser in Scottsdale Thursday to teach young people the life skills they need to keep this kind of violence out of their lives.
