Maricopa County Board Of Supervisors To Appoint New County Assessor

August 19, 2013

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to name a new county assessor Monday.  Former assessor Keith Russell resigned when he was appointed to serve as a Mesa justice of the peace in June. He served as assessor for eight years.

The office is responsible for locating, identifying and appraising property that is subject to taxes. Whoever is selected to replace Russell will need to run for the seat in 2014 in order to complete the full term through 2016.
