It’s a great day to be a Tar Heel in Arizona.

Justin Jackson delivered the go-ahead three-point play and the University of North Carolina (UNC) scored the final eight points for a 71-65 win over Gonzaga and a title that eluded them last year.

UNC’s Jackson said they overcame a rough start.

"You know, at the end of the day, I kept telling the guys, you know, ‘just play through it. You gotta keep playing.’ And I think that’s what we did and look at where we’re at,” Jackson said.

Fans made the trek across the country to see the weekend’s events in Glendale.

“I had the best moment of my life, no joke. I drove 32 hours, worth it," said one fan.

"Thirty-one and a half hours to Phoenix, don’t regret it at all," said another fan. "We’re headed back tonight, though. We gotta get back as soon as we can, it’s probably going to be Wednesday morning. But, we’re grateful.”

It’s North Carolina’s 6th NCAA men’s basketball title.
