Former Baseball Pitcher And El Paso Native Identified As Drowning Victim
Dive teams continued to search Bartlett Lake Monday for the body of a man went into the water Sunday and never resurfaced. It was not immediately known who the victim was, but today the family of former Major League Baseball pitcher Frank Castillo told KVIA El Paso in a statement that it was Castillo who drowned in the lake. An El Paso native, he spent most of his career with the Chicago Cubs.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Deputy Joaquin Enriquez said dive teams narrowed their search area. The body was found Monday afternoon. Castillo was 44.
