Just in time for hiking season!  The Coconino National Forest is opening a new stretch of hiking trails saddled along the Verde Valley southwest of Sedona.

Under a Forest Service grant, the Cornville Non-Motorized Trail System and Trailhead opens March 29.

It connects the towns of Cornville and Bridgeport, about 5 miles west of Interstate 17 along Highway 260.

The federal grant and community funding have expanded the Tissaw Trailhead with expanded parking and horse accommodations off Cornville Road.
