NY Man Confesses To Tweeting Threats At CNN Anchors And Phoenix Woman

July 26, 2013

The New York man who has been indicted for threatening to kill two CNN anchors has allegedly confessed to tweeting about the plots to kill Jane Valez-Mitchell and Nancy Grace. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio says David Simpson's car had been packed with guns, zip ties and a knife, and he was ready to leave New York for Georgia. And, Arpaio says the murders weren't the only crimes he allegedly had in mind.

“When he did arrive in Phoenix he made a statement that he built some pipe bombs, bombs, and planted these bombs in a certain area in northern Pennsylvania,” Arpaio said.

Simpson was upset with the news anchors over their coverage of the Jodi Arias murder trial. A Phoenix woman who defended the anchors also received a threatening tweet.
