July 15, 2013

We are pleased to share the voices and conversations of our community from StoryCorps Phoenix. StoryCorps Phoenix is the project that records the stories of everyday people and archives them at the Library of Congress.

The StoryCorps Mobile Booth was parked at the Phoenix Art Museum and was very busy. We’ll air a conversation each Monday on KJZZ as part of the Phoenix visit.

Today, another conversation between Sandra Day O'Connor and her son, Scott O'Connor.

Justice O’Connor has been a lawyer, judge and diplomat. Before joining the federal court, she worked in the court of appeals at the Arizona State capitol. Thirty-two years ago this month, President Reagan announced he was nominating Justice O’Connor to become the first female justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.

She and her son Scott came to StoryCorps Phoenix.
