After a whirlwind of change in Washington, D.C., and a series of executive orders related to immigration, many of Arizona’s undocumented residents are uneasy about their status.

Helen Aguirre Ferré is President Donald Trump’s special assistant and director of media affairs and one of the few Hispanics in the new administration.

She says Trump is keeping his campaign promises.

At the moment, Ferre believes that only those on the wrong side of the law should be concerned but that all non-citizens have been put on notice.

“If you’ve committed a felony, if you’ve committed a violent crime, please know that the authorities will find you. You will be put in jail and then you will be deported. Those who are undocumented in our country, they’ve always lived under the risk of being found and deported," she said.

As for repealing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA program that allows those who entered the U.S. as minors to stay temporarily, Ferré says no decision has been made on the status of that directive as of yet.
