Health officials caution Warped Tour attendees of extreme heat

Thousands of music fans are expected to show up today in east Mesa for a rock concert known as the Warped Tour. With the temperature predicted to be more than 110 degrees, health and show officials are advising concert-goers to prepare in advance. Forrest Smith of the Mesa Fire Department says concert-goers should start hydrating long before showing up.

“One of the big concerns we have for people is that they don’t prepare themselves by getting hydrated, and having plenty of fluids onboard before they go out to the event, and a lot of times that mean drinking a lot of water the night before,” Smith said.

Concert officials say they will have misting stations and shaded areas to allow people to get out of the sun.
