Marijuana discovered in trailer false wall at Interstate 19 checkpoint
Border Patrol agents in southern Arizona have seized a ton of marijuana they found hidden in a truckload of produce. The vehicle was stopped at a checkpoint on Interstate 19, north of Nogales, and spokeswoman Crystal Amarillas said drug-sniffing dogs located 88 bundles of pot hidden in a false wall, inside the trailer.
"For the most part we see smugglers trying to smuggle the drugs out of the desert with bundles on their backs so having this seizure was a big success for us," Amarillas said.
Amarillas said the smugglers had gone to a lot of trouble to hide the drugs from authorities.
