Wrong-way wreck on the 51

June 26, 2013

The Department of Public Safety said a wrong-way driver on State Route 51 was probably impaired as he sped north in the southbound lanes in early-morning traffic. "At least 100 mph plus, weaving in and out of traffic and apparently showing no regard for the safety of anybody else on the road," DPS spokesman Bar Graves said.

Graves said the driver eventually crashed into the right shoulder wall where he was arrested.  He said the other drivers did the right thing when confronted by this motorway menace by getting out of the way and calling 911.
