Meadow Being Restored For Wildlife Habitat Damaged
Officials with the Prescott National Forest say someone cut a lock into a meadow that was being restored as wildlife habitat.
It happened July 4 and 5 just south of the Woodchute Wilderness near Jerome.
Officials say a vehicle left ruts several feet deep throughout the 10-acre meadow.
Officials had been removing trees encroaching into the meadow, and trying to keep livestock and vehicles out to control soil erosion.
They say the break-in has caused significant damage around the wildlife tank and the meadow. They're looking for whoever is responsible.
