To put it mildly, 2014 has been a rough season for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Arizona has had one of the worst records in the majors for most of the season, and the organization has taken a lot of flak for how it handles certain on-field situations, like when its pitchers should throw at opposing batters. 

Michael Baumann, contributor to Grantland, is one of the Diamondbacks' harshest critics. He explained how the team is taking some of the joy out of the game.
