City Worker Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Car
Authorities say a city worker filling potholes has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in west Phoenix.
Phoenix police say the 38-year-old man was struck shortly after noon Monday near Pecos Road and 17th Street.
They say the city employee was outside of the work truck filling potholes when he was struck by the car.
The woman driving the car and two children she was taking care of were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The woman told investigators she was distracted when something fell on the back floorboard. When she was reaching back to pick it up, she reported veering over and causing the collision.
Police say she'll be cited for failing to control the speed of her vehicle to avoid a collision.
