A small group of voters in Yavapai County are noticing the wrong return date on their official mail-in ballot envelope.

Out of 100,000 registered voters in the county, 2,500 voters received a ballot with the incorrect return date of Nov. 18. That’s 10 days after the November General Election date.

Yavapai County Recorder Leslie Hoffman said it was a simple keystroke issue.

“And we found out at 8:30 on Sunday night,” she said. “And we have letters going out to those 2,500 to let them know, please follow the instructions on the inside on the yellow instruction sheet.”

Hoffman said the wrong date is only printed on the carrier envelope.

Mail-in ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day Nov. 8.
