Governor Brewer remembers Department of Public Safety Officer killed Monday
Governor Jan Brewer is remembering a Department of Public Safety officer, killed Monday night in the line of duty. Tim Huffman, a 14-year veteran of the force was killed in a chain reaction crash, while tending to a vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 8, east of Yuma.
"Today we have put the flag at half-mast and certainly send our greatest condolences to his family and friends," Brewer said.
Brewer said Huffman's death just underscores the dangers officers face every day.
He was killed when a semi-truck slammed into the back of some patrol cars, in a closed lane of I-8, as he was doing paperwork related to the accident.
