Poll shows support for McCain drops

April 24, 2013

A new survey says support for Republican Arizona Senator John McCain has dropped to its lowest level in 21 years.

Jim Haynes of Phoenix-based Behavior Research says only 26 percent of state residents in the latest Rocky Mountain Poll, gave the veteran senator a positive approval rating.  And, Haynes says there could be several reasons.

"The lingering economic problems, unemployment, and everything else...plus the ongoing and seemingly ending debates on various things that are going on," Haynes said.

And Haynes says only 21 percent believe McCain deserves another six-year term.  He won't have to worry about that, though, for another three years.
