Job Summary: Hosts and produces news stories and information programs. Works in the KJZZ radio station and contacts may include administrators, staff, volunteers and the general public. Works in a team environment to meet department goals.
Duties: Hosts and produces live continuity breaks and news; gathers and rewrites material to convey required information in specific time slots; edits audio; produces promotional materials; participates in fundraising activities; writes and delivers newscasts, promotional and other on-air material; delivers information in an engaging, affable style with appropriate tone to match the network; operates audio controls and provides well produced program breaks; keeps daily logs and required paperwork.
Desired Experience: Exude a confident, personable presentation and strong, friendly on-air delivery; Demonstrate an insatiable curiosity and interest in Arizona issues; Ability to produce well-written and contextual news while on-air; Experience operating audio controls and producing well-executed program breaks; Highly productive individual; A minimum of 2 years’ on-air experience or equivalent combination of work and education. A recent on-air audio sample on CD or links to audio online is required.
Hours & Pay Rate:Up to 40 hours per week;
Hours to be determined; Pay DOE. This position is part-time with no benefits. Please note that early morning, evening and/or weekend hours may be required for station events and activities.
