Two Dead In Crash Of Small Plane In Northern Arizona
PAGE, Ariz. - Authorities say two bodies have been recovered from the wreckage of a small plane in northeastern Arizona and they're both believed to be South Carolina residents.
Coconino County Sheriff's officials say positive identification of the victims will be made by the medical examiner's office.
But they say the pilot was believed to be 47-year-old Charles Trotter of Liberty and the passenger likely was 15-year-old Dakota Jacks of Pickens.
Sheriff's officials say the teen was a friend of Trotter's family.
Authorities say the plane left Las Vegas, Nevada, on Friday morning and landed in Page. It took off from the Page airport about 1:30 p.m. Friday headed for South Carolina and was reported missing Saturday.
The wreckage was found Sunday inside a remote canyon about 35 miles east of Page.
