Two Injured In Wrong-Way Crash On Phoenix Freeway
Authorities say two men were injured after a wrong-way crash on a Phoenix freeway.
KPHO-TV reports that two vehicles collided head-on shortly before 2 a.m. Monday on northbound State Route 143.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say one driver who had to be extricated from his vehicle and has been hospitalized in serious condition.
They say a second driver was hospitalized with serious leg injuries.
The crash led to SR 143 from Interstate 10 and Broadway Road being shut down for several hours.
Investigators are looking into whether impairment was a factor. The identities of the drivers were not released.
Seven people were killed last month as the result of three wrong-way crashes on major Phoenix freeways.
