Private Aviation Faces Pilot Shortage

There is a shortage of private pilots around the country, and around the state.

License numbers have dropped by about 51 percent, said Mark Spencer, vice president of the Arizona Pilots Association.

One reason?

Some pilots may have moved into other careers in aviation.  Spencer's group is trying to increase the ranks.
