Phoenix Sweats Weather Record This Summer

Phoenix’s above-average high temperatures are expected to continue for at least another day or so – with highs forecast for around 112 and 113 through tomorrow, before cooling down to about 105.

And, to add insult to weather-related injury, Phoenix could be on its way to having the most 110-plus degree days in history.

What's one reason it's been so hot? A heat dome. 

Essentially, a dome of high pressure. As air heats up, it expands and creates a dome shape on charts, Henson said.
