Valley Metro fare hike hits Friday
If you ride Valley Metro buses or the light rail, you better take some extra change starting March 1.
One-way tickets will cost 25 cents more. Valley Metro says the price hike is necessary to keep up with operational costs. This is the first price increase since 2009.
Fares will also go up on some Dial A Ride services and other transit passes. Valley Metro is adding a new 15-day pass, which it says is less costly than the 31-day pass, which will continue to be offered.
