Arizona gas prices on the rise

February 14, 2013

Arizona drivers are paying almost 15 cents more per gallon this week than last. From Phoenix, KJZZ’s Mark Brodie has more.

MARK BRODIE: AAA Arizona says the statewide average stands at $3.50 a gallon – that’s up 14 cents from last week. Arizona’s week over week increase is twice the national one, but the state’s average price is still lower than the national one, which is $3.63 for a gallon of regular, unleaded gas. AAA says the approaching switch to the summer blend of gasoline is a main cause of the increase, and that price increase should slow down as production ramps back up. Tucson drivers are paying the lowest average prices, while those in Scottsdale are seeing the highest. Around the country, Wyoming has the lowest average gas prices, while California has the highest.
