Heat Expected To Be 10 Degrees Above Average This Weekend
The National Weather Service in Phoenix is forecasting the warmest weekend of the year. Residents of the Phoenix metro area should expect to see temperatures of at least 104 degrees, which is 8-10 degrees higher than the average.
The average temperature in Phoenix this time of year is 95.
Jessica Nolte of the National Weather Service says weekends in the 100s can be dangerous, even for locals.
“Sometimes even some of our most seasoned natives have problems when they are outdoors in the heat, they think they can handle it and their body can’t,” Nolte said.
Nolte said residents should always have water with them.
“If they plan on being outdoors, take breaks, let people know that you are going outdoors, particularly if you are hiking,” Nolte said.
Temperatures are should remain above average until Tuesday or Wednesday next week.
