Tovar Won't Run For Office In 2014
A Democratic legislative leader says she won’t be running for public office this year.
State Senator Anna Tovar of Tolleson says she won't be a candidate in the 2014 election cycle.
Tovar is the Minority Leader in the state Senate. She was considering a run for the District 5 seat being vacated by Mary Rose Wilcox on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors.
Tovar said she will take time off from public office to focus on her family and maintaining her good health.
Tovar, a former teacher, was appointed to the state House of Representatives in 2009 after having served on the Tolleson City Council.
