California condors are found in several northern Arizona counties.

Arizona is home to more than 40 animals protected by the Endangered Species Act.

The first 11 animals were added to the list in March 1967, right after the Endangered Species Preservation Act of 1966.

Explore the timeline, which shows when each threatened or endangered species was added to the list and where each is known or believed to live in Arizona (data through Feb. 13, 2015).
