Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne should learn this week if a campaign finance case against him is over.

An administrative law judge decided last month that there wasn't enough evidence to conclude Horne broke civil campaign finance laws during his 2010 election campaign.

Yavapai County prosecutors allege that Horne and aide Kathleen Winn illegally worked together on outside ads targeting Horne's Democratic opponent in the weeks before the November 2010 election. Winn was running an independent group backing Horne.

Prosecutors wanted the Republican attorney general to repay donors $400,000 and up to three times that amount in fines. Yavapai County Attorney Sheila Polk has until mid-week to accept, reject or modify the ruling and could reinstate the civil violation order.
