The Southern California-based sporting goods store Sport Chalet is closing all its locations, including several in the Valley.

In a statement posted online and emailed to customers Saturday, the company offered no explanation. Sport Chalet said its stores will remain open for several weeks, though online sales have already stopped.

Sport Chalet was founded in 1959, and has about 50 locations in Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah. Its Valley locations are in Phoenix, Chandler, Scottsdale, Goodyear and Peoria.
