A proposed House bill would have let witnesses of school bullying report it anonymously.

The “safe-to-tell” bill did not make it to the House Education Committee, but sponsor Rep. Eric Myer is not giving up.

“By me introducing the bill, it has introduced awareness, and that may mean that the department of education will just say, ‘Hey, we can find these dollars in our budget and we’re just going to start doing this anyway, because it’s the right thing to do for the kids in our state,’” he said.

Myer said he plans to propose the bill to the appropriations committee, which he sits on, or add it as an amendment to another bill.
