Nuala McGovern presents Newsday on BBC World Service, which is broadcast globally on the network.
Nuala joined the BBC in 2009, presenting and producing World Have Your Say on BBC World Service.
Prior to joining the BBC, Nuala worked for New York’s flagship public radio station, WNYC, for nine years, serving as an Executive Producer for The Brian Lehrer Show which won a George Foster Peabody award for excellence in broadcasting. She was also the founding producer of Brian Lehrer Live: Where Web Video Meets the Issues.
Nuala has covered and managed major international events including the election coverage in the run up to the presidency of Barack Obama in 2008. She has also acted as a moderator at WeMedia’s technology conference in Miami, the CIVICUS World Assembly in Montreal and at the SuperPower Nation, an online event led by BBC World Service.
Nuala has given lectures surrounding radio and social media for the Public Radio Directors Association, New York University and has travelled to Uganda on a Gatekeepers’ Fellowship from the International Reporting Project at Johns Hopkins University.
Nuala was born in Ireland, and has worked in Italy, New York and now London.
