Sarah Ventre returns to her hometown of Tempe to join KJZZ after working at NPR headquarters in Washington as a producer and editor for a number of shows, desks, podcasts and the national newscast. Her reporting has been featured on Weekend Edition, Weekend All Things Considered, and on member station WAMU.

Prior to her time at NPR, Sarah was a freelance writer for the Phoenix New Times, and hosted several radio shows on The Blaze 1330 AM. She holds a degree in anthropology from Arizona State University.

Sarah loves live music and pop culture, and has volunteered with Girls Rock! DC, a nonprofit music camp for girls, and performed at the live storytelling event SpeakeasyDC.

She is always up for a good laugh or a great chile relleno, and is really excited to come work in her hometown — a beautiful place with no snow.
