Census Report: Arizona Vacancy Rate For Rental Housing Is Up

The U.S. Census Bureau this week came out with some new numbers on housing. Among the findings, the vacancy rate for rental housing in Arizona was almost 11 percent last year, higher than the national average.

But, Pete TeKampe is not sure about that number. He is a commercial real estate agent with the firm Marcus & Millichap and said the census numbers are probably too broad and look at too long a time frame. He prefers to study the Valley’s rental market quarter-by-quarter.
