An aid camp in southern Arizona once gave medical care to migrants on their journey across the border. Now it's been shut down.
Arizona Storytellers: Mike Chow
KJZZ partners with the Arizona Republic to bring you the Arizona Storytellers project on the radio. Storytellers share stories about our community or about life events that shaped them at live events around the Valley.
Mike Chow is a photojournalist in Phoenix. In 1999, the Serbians had occupied Kosovo and many Albanian refugees came to the United States.
Chow had been covering the conflict in Kosovo as well as one refugee, named Naim Berisha, who ended up in Phoenix. After the war ended, Chow and his colleague, Chris Fiscus, accompanied Naim when he returned to Kosovo.
Mike Chow is a staff photojournalist at the Arizona Republic.
Join Arizona Storytellers for their next night of live storytelling on Monday, Oct. 26 at Skyline, the Rooftop Patio at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel.
